Since 2014 I am fascinated of long distance hiking (“thruhiking”). I love the idea to carry everything what I need to survive for days/weeks in just one backpack. Moreover I like the feeling of freedom to be able to walk towards one destination in one direction for a longer time, rather than walking in a circle and end up where I started.
I hiked already more than 7.500 Km on various trails on different parts of the world:
Thruhike through Germany (2014, 1650 Km, 47 days)
Appalachian Trail, USA (2015, 3525 Km, 140 days)
Venice-Munich Alp crossing (2018, 550 Km, 25 days)
Sweden:
Parts of the northern Kungsleden (110 Km in total); the entire Southern Kungsleden (360 Km), Höga Kustenleden (160 Km), snowshoe hikes during winter (550km in total; Kungsleden, Vindelfjällen, Jämtlandsfjäll)

During those trips I developed a lot of experiences when it comes to (ultra light) gear, food, planning, mountain weather conditions during winter (snow storms) and everything else around long distance hiking. So I can offer help and advice around these topics if you are planning to go on your own trip. I also offer guided (test)hikes/workshops around Gothenburg and the rental of necessary gear. During those workshops I will teach you what to pay attention to during long distance hiking: tenting, water treatment, use of poles, correct usage of the gear, starting a fire, which clothes (which fabrics are good?), weather ….

You can also book me for talks/ presentations where I will share stories, experiences and pictures of my hikes. I promise I will inspire your audience!

If you want to use my thruhiking knowledge, just contact me and we will figure something out which will fit your needs.
